Committee
The House investigative committee has published a batch of around 70 photos secured from the holdings of deceased convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
This represents the latest in a series of release from a tranche of in excess of 95,000 photos the panel has acquired from Epstein's holdings. It includes images of excerpts from the literary work Lolita inscribed across a woman's body, and redacted images of female foreign passports.
This action occurs mere hours before the 19 December deadline for the Department of Justice to release every files connected to its inquiry into Epstein.
"These new photos pose more questions about exactly what the Justice Department has in its holdings," remarked the ranking member of the committee, Robert Garcia.
Some of the photos made public on Thursday show Epstein conversing with scholar and advocate Noam Chomsky on a private plane; Bill Gates positioned beside a female whose face is obscured; Steve Bannon positioned at a table facing Epstein, and previous Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner event.
Committee
These are the latest affluent, prominent men to be pictured in Epstein property images published by the committee - previously disclosed photos also show US President Donald Trump and past president Bill Clinton, as well as film director Woody Allen, former US treasury secretary Larry Summers, lawyer Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and others.
Being pictured in the photos is not evidence of any illegal activity, and a number of the featured figures have said they were not participating in Epstein's illegal activity.
In a announcement accompanying the image release, Lawmakers on the US House Oversight Committee said the Epstein property holders did not offer background information or dates for the pictures.
"Photographs were chosen to furnish the American people with clarity into a representative sample of the images received from the estate, and to give insights into Epstein's circle and his exceptionally disturbing actions," the release reads.

The disclosure also features several photographs of passages from the Vladimir Nabokov book Lolita inscribed in dark ink across several locations of a female's body, such as her chest, foot, pelvis, and spine. Lolita narrates the tale of a young girl who was groomed by a middle-aged literature professor.
An example of a quote from the book scrawled across a woman's chest states, "Lolita's name: the end of the tongue traveling of three steps down the mouth to land, at three, on the teeth".
There are also a number of photos of women's identification and official papers from countries globally, including Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.
Investigative Body
Most of the details on the papers, like names and dates of birth, is censored but the committee said in a announcement that the travel documents pertain to "women whom Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators were interacting with".
An additional image shows Epstein seated at a desk intimately in the company of three women whose identities have been obscured - one individual has her hand on Epstein's torso under his clothing, and another is bending to look at a adjacent computer. Epstein appears to be helping the third fasten a bracelet.

A further image made public is a screenshot of text messages from an unnamed sender who states they have been sent "some girls" and are demanding "$1000 for each individual".
The panel has a vast number of photographs in its possession from the Epstein property, which are "simultaneously disturbing and everyday," its announcement on recently explained.
The oversight panel first issued a subpoena to the holdings of Epstein, who passed away in a New York correctional facility in 2019 while pending legal proceedings on allegations of sex trafficking crimes, in August.
The photos and documents the Epstein estate's representatives gave to the committee are different than what is commonly referred to "the Epstein documents". That material are papers under the justice department's control connected to its independent probe into Epstein.
Pursuant to the Transparency Act, which Donald Trump enacted last month, the DOJ has until the date of 19 December to publish its files. The full nature of what's contained in the DOJ's files is not publicly known, and it's likely that much of the material will be heavily obscured, akin to Congressional documents
