Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
A representative for the company said: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.
The company declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."
Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in 55 languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.
A number of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.
To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, including a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
