Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the loss of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital follows the sports world had expressed condolences for the fighter in the wake of the terrible crash.
